Three-dimensional virtual planning in mandibular advancement surgery: Soft tissue prediction based on deep learning

چکیده
The study aimed at developing a deep-learning (DL)-based algorithm to predict the virtual soft tissue profile after mandibular advancement surgery, and compare its accuracy with mass tensor model (MTM). Subjects who underwent surgery were enrolled divided into training group test group. DL was trained using 3D photographs CBCT data based on surgically achieved displacements (training group). Soft simulations generated by MTM actual surgical jaw movements (test group) compared soft-tissue profiles postoperative distance mapping in terms of mean absolute error lower face, lip, chin regions. 133 subjects included — 119 14 for DL-based face region 1.0 ± 0.6 mm significantly (p = 0.02) MTM-based (1.5 0.5 mm). can following surgery. With clinically acceptable error. Therefore, it seems be relevant option prediction orthognathic options.

Three-dimensional assessment of mandibular advancement 1 year after surgery.
INTRODUCTION This prospective observational study evaluated changes in the 3-dimensional position and remodeling of the mandibular rami, condyles, and chin at splint removal and 1 year after mandibular advancement surgery. METHODS Presurgery, splint removal (4-6 weeks postsurgery), and 1-year postsurgery cone-beam computed tomography scans of 27 subjects were used. Superimposition on the cran...

This prospective longitudinal study assessed the 3D soft tissue changes following mandibular advancement surgery. Cranial base registration was performed for superimposition of virtual models built from cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) volumes. Displacements at the soft and hard tissue chin (n = 20), lower incisors and lower lip (n = 21) were computed for presurgery to splint removal (4-6-w...
متن کاملVisualizing three-dimensional facial soft tissue changes following orthognathic surgery.
Laser scanning can be used to visualize the face in three dimensions. These scans can then be processed to enable assessment of facial changes. The aim of this single-centre, prospective, longitudinal, cohort study was to investigate whether four different visualization methods correctly represented facial changes occurring as a result of orthognathic surgery. Twenty-six consecutive orthognathi...

متن کاملSoft tissue to hard tissue advancement ratios for mandibular elongation using distraction osteogenesis in children.
Distraction osteogenesis is extensively used for the elongation of hypoplastic mandibles in children, yet the soft tissue profile response to this is not well understood. The pre- and posttreatment lateral cephalometric radiographs of 27 pediatric patients who underwent bilateral mandibular elongation using distraction osteogenesis were analyzed retrospectively to correlate horizontal soft tiss...
